Raquel Hernandez
My name is Raquel Hernandez and I am a junior majoring in Psychology. I am from Los Angeles, California. I have been involved in LOOP since my first year at SCU. I am also involved in CLC, LEAD, and Undocumented Students and Allies Association (USAA). I love to watch movies, drink coffee, eat hot cheetos, listen to music, and dance.

Vicki Yu
My name is Vicki Yu and I am a senior majoring in Accounting and minoring in Economics, Communication, and Sustainability. I am from San Francisco, so I’m accustomed to the fog but have grown used to sunny Santa Clara! I’ve been with LOOP ever since it was first introduced to SCU in 2013. Outside of LOOP, I am a part of the Food Recovery Network (FRN). When I’m not in class, you can find me watching Youtube videos or scrolling through Facebook.

Rubi Alcazar
Hey! My name is Rubi Alcazar, I’m a senior majoring in Economics, and minoring in Sociology. I was born and raised in Palo Alto, so I’m very familiar with the Bay Area. I’m a first-generation college student, and this is my first year in LOOP. Rubi Alcazar

Justin Bautista
Hi! My name is Justin Bautista, a senior majoring in Accounting and Finance. I am originally from the Midwest but have now made California my new home. My hobbies include photography, creative writing, and being a passionate soccer fan. Emily Chan
Hi! My name is Emily Chan, I am a senior majoring in Finance and minoring in MIS. I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. I transferred to Santa Clara University last year and I was a mentee with LOOP. I am currently involved with SCCAP and LOOP. I love travelling, photography, volunteering, and the outdoors.

Natalie Duda
Hey! Natalie Duda is my name, and LOOP Peer Mentoring is my game. I am a junior Psychology major, Studio art minor here at Santa Clara University. After I finish my fourth year I want to return to SCU for graduate school, in the School of Education and Counseling Psychology to become a counselor. I am originally from Torrance, CA (Los Angeles), but I really like living in the Bay Area. I enjoy having great conversation, talking about TV shows and Netflix (Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Parks & Recreation are my tops), and going out to eat. This is my first year as a LOOP Peer Mentor, so I’m excited to do what I can to help others! #gobroncos

I enjoy eating authentic Salvadoran and Guatemalan food, listening to hip-hop music (Drake, J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar are the best), and watching my favorite soccer teams (USMNT and the Argentina national men’s soccer team). I love watching TV shows (House of Cards, Empire, and Parks & Rec are some of my favorites) and I am a huge boba tea/drinks fan!

Hi everyone:) My name is Saron Goitom and I am a senior Public Health Science major. More specifically, I am interested in Child and Family health and would like to pursue a career in that area. Participating in organizations such as the Lead Scholars Program, Multicultural Center, the Peer Health Educator program, and assisting in research on campus have all been valuable opportunities that contributed to my learning experience at SCU. Aside from school, I enjoy movie nights, going to the beach, and meaningful conversations. I am so excited to meet you all this year!

Katie Grimm
Hi! My name is Katie and I am a junior. I am an Environmental Science major and this is my second year in LOOP. I am also involved in Relay for Life, SHPE, and I am a student manager for the baseball team. I love to play sports, cook, eat food, listen to country music, make puns, and drink chocolate milk. I also really like going to all of the sports games around campus (Go Broncos!)! Fun Fact: I can’t smell!
Kate Horiuchi
Hi! My name is Kate Horiuchi and I am from Honolulu, HI. I am a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry, and I hope to attend medical school after graduating. I have been involved in LOOP since last year and this is my second year as a mentor. I am also involved in Ka Mana’o O Hawai’i (Hawaii Club) and Barkada. I love to eat, travel, play tennis, and shop. Andrea Lai
Hello! My name’s Andrea! I am a senior, accounting major from the island of Guam! I’ve been involved in LOOP since my freshman year - I was a mentor last year, and I am happy to be a mentor again this year! I am currently the secretary for the Asian Pacific-Islander Student Union (APSU)! I love concerts and discovering new music, playing tennis, traveling, drinking coffee, napping, and trying new restaurants. Jason Nguyen
Hi, my name is Jason, and I’m a junior majoring in Biology and Spanish and minoring in Public Health and Chemistry. Although I apparently look like a Californian now (whatever that means), I am actually from Portland, OR, and my family currently lives in Houston, TX.
I wear quite a few hats on and around campus, but I am most involved in LEAD, VSA, and Camp Kesem - you can ask me more about them when we meet! I also work in a biology lab on campus.
I love to travel, eat, cook, play the piano, make arts and crafts, decorate, read fantasy novels/fan-fiction, watch anime/movies, play multiplayer card/board/video games, hike, run, swim, and try new things!
I was a mentee my first two years, and had a great experience, so I am excited to be a mentor this year and contribute to this awesome program! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Berenice Ruiz
Hi, my name is Berenice, and I am a junior majoring in the Child Studies program. Within the program I have a double emphasis in both Pre-Teaching and Child Studies. I am a San Jose native so if you want to know where all the good places to eat are just let me know!
Here at the university I have been apart of many things. I have been apart of the orientation program for two years and have loved every second of it. I am apart of the Hermanas Unidas club, the Future Teacher’s Project, and the Rainbow Resource Center.
I became a loop mentor to be a resource for any first-year or sophomore student. Being apart of the orientation program for two years I have known to value the importance of mentors and have enjoyed being a mentor to others.
I am so excited to be a mentor this year and to meet all of you!

My name is Christian Ruiz and I am currently a senior mechanical engineering major at Santa Clara University. I joined LOOP this past year and hope to be a good resource for incoming students.
Anna Tomas
I’m Anna (pronounced like the Disney princess) and I am a senior Marketing major with a Retail Management minor. People think I’m from the Bay but I’m actually from around Chicago!
I am the culture show co-director in Barkada (Filipino club) meaning that when I’m not in class, in the library, or at my on-campus job at HR, I’m usually hanging around the MCC!
I’m an avid coffee drinker, I enjoy watching sports, hiking, dancing, and eating!

On campus, I am involved in the Student Ambassador program, Global Fellows, Peer Judicial Board, the Pre-Law Society and Residence Life. I was also a member of Strive for College my first year. Lastly, I also work for Disabilities Resources as a proctor for exams.
Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, binge watching TV shows and movies (especially The Real Housewives or Supernatural), going to concerts, cooking, baking and eating. I’m a huge foodie!
